Client desired to expand the capacity and revise the treatment process of an existing wastewater treatment plant, which accepts domestic septage, grease trap wastes, and portable toilet wastes. HSA Golden was contracted to modify the waste processing system, obtain a FDEP wastewater permit, and obtain an Environmental Resource Permit (ERP) for a stormwater management plan. |
| Scope: |
- Plant modification included screening, lime stabilization, aeration and clarification basins, bio-solid dewatering, a lift station, and discharge to the city sewer system.
- Stormwater challenge involved demonstrating pre- versus post-development improvements to stormwater runoff in a limited amount of space.
- Land applications of residuals were discontinued.
- By utilizing stormwater harvesting, water quality and nutrient concerns were addressed.
- Lift station used to pump treated effluent to City of Groveland municipal wastewater collection system.
- Modifications increased capacity from 0.04 to 0.1 mgd AADF.
