HSA Golden designed and permitted a state-of-the-art materials recovery facility (MRF) for Class I and Class III waste at Taft Recycling's south Orlando, Florida, facility. Permitting included negotiation with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for a Solid Waste Permit allowing the processing of 1,500 tons of waste per day. The project site also had floodplain, wetland, and muck soil constraints; an Environmental Resource Permit (ERP), with compensating storage for the floodplain issue, was obtained from the (DEP), and no mitigation impacts were negotiated for the wetlands.
