Engineering the Full Landfill Lifecycle

At HSA Golden, we are experienced in every stage of the landfill life cycle from pre-permit landfill design to post closure environmental monitoring.

With the engineering of a new landfill, we know one of the first major hurdles is gaining community approval. To this end, our landfill experts will put together a presentation, meet with local elected officials and homeowners to explain the plans to them and gently diffuse the opposition with open and honest answers. If required, our team of land planners, appraisers, traffic engineers and land-use attorneys will apply their expertise to assure the success of your project.

Once the landfill's site feasibility studies and permitting are complete, we are ready to handle its design and construction. HSA Golden is one of the few solid waste engineering firms in Florida that will actually handle all of your landfill construction management. With our expertise in contracts and our affiliations with top construction attorneys, we can make sure your company is protected against potential legal problems.

Services for the Active Landfill

For clients needing on-going landfill monitoring services, HSA Golden provides water quality sampling and testing and will prepare and submit all necessary reports to governmental agencies. Additionally, we can be on hand to provide your facility with other solutions including landfill gas collection system design, gas sampling and treatment, remediation of groundwater contamination, odor control and air quality permitting (Title V).

Landfill Redevelopment

As our world keeps going "green," landfill redevelopment will become more and more of a priority. Our engineers have direct knowledge and on-site experience with landfill closure and remediation of the soil for new development. One such project at the former McCoy Navy base in Orlando Florida, involved an extensive geotechnical evaluation of the former landfill along with the development of a conceptual plan that included geotechnical, wetland, and existing contamination considerations.
